I thought I would share a little unheard track from the Crazy Talk album recording sessions. We had a lot of fun recording it — rather late in the day (probably about 2am) — and after a reasonable amount of wine and beer had been sipped… we recorded ‘Pretty Shiny Frisbees’. The relics of ancient civilisations are still being uncovered today — but what will future societies make of the stuff we are leaving behind us now, in the 21st century?

Best wishes for the season,
give love, not piles of stuff!!

After a festival debut at the New York Surf Film Festival in September 2010, Get Sweet is screening a little closer to home at the 2011 Byron Bay Film Festival! Stay tuned for the exact date and time... the Festival runs from March 4th to Sunday 13th March. UPDATE: "Get Sweet" will screen on Saturday 12th at a matinee surf session :)
Last week I recorded a version of the iconic song “The Pub With No Beer” at ABC Mid North Coast for their Slim Dusty tribute project Sing Like Slim. Geoff Dixon and Lawrence Pastro provided the moody rhythm section. “It is a cracking version too!” Kim Honan, ABC Rural You can hear it online here: ABC Mid North Coast
Helloooo! It is with icy fingers I type this missive… well, not icy, but it is quite a cold mid-winter for the North Coast of NSW. It has been an interesting time of consolidation since the Crazy Talk album was finished. Now that my mind is starting to clear a little from the haze of such a long process, I’m starting to get the CD out and about and
It is with regret that I have cancelled my upcoming shows in Tamworth. I have been in bed with a chest infection for a week and still need more time to recover. I was so looking forward to it, but now I’ll have to wait until Tamworth Festival 2011!
Happily, we are planning some shows in Tamworth before then, and in Sydney/Newcastle in the coming months too.
Phew, that’s about all I can manage… back to bed with hot lemon and honey tea…

It’s a fact for artists these days that music is freely available for download on the web — even ours! Yes, that’s right, Rosie and The Thorns have been pirated! And not just once, there’s a whole raft of sites where you can download hiqh-quality mp3s of ‘Crazy Talk’.
I know there is not much I can do about it and a part of me is kind of pleased to know that people have actually gone to the effort of uploading the album… occasionally even with their opinions of it! But trying to make a living from creative pursuits gets harder, even though the demand for new music is certainly not slowing down.
So, if you have downloaded one of these free copies of the album, perhaps you might consider sending us a small donation, I’ll leave the amount up to you…
